Occupational therapists make assessments regarding home safety. Aside from that, here are some of the things that they can do for you:

• improve gait, balance, and strength
• provide instructions on how to properly utilize assistive devices
• make recommendations as to how the home should be arranged for the optimal safety of the patient
• plan and implement an exercise plan for the patient
